God’s Perfect timing in La Ensenada, a message about frogs from Exodus, became a divine moment of healing and forgiveness for one grieving mother—and a reminder that God’s timing is always perfect.

✍️ The Story

One of the most powerful moments from our time in Honduras this year.  It happened in a small community church that Hope for Tela serves, in La Ensenada. Pastor Scott was invited to preach there and chose a passage from Exodus —the story of the frogs. He spoke about Pharaoh, who had the chance to remove the frogs immediately but chose to wait until the next day.

“Why wait?” Pastor Scott asked. He reminded the congregation that we often do the same thing with sin, forgiveness, and the hard things in our lives. We could choose to release them to God now, but instead, we hold on, wanting to control the timing and the outcome.

At the close of his message, he invited anyone who needed prayer to come forward. Many did. One woman I knew stepped out, heavy with grief. As I joined her in prayer, she began to weep, a deep, soul-cry that filled the room. Her pain was raw and consuming.

I knew that the same gang had brutally murdered her son, who had once been part of it. She had tried to reach him, to help him change, but her efforts had come too late. In my heart, I wrestled with the timing. It felt too soon, too hard to ask her to forgive. Yet God’s timing is never wrong.

As we prayed, she poured out her sorrow before God. Slowly, her tears turned to peace. The heaviness lifted. What filled her instead was something only the Holy Spirit could give her, a quiet joy and strength that surpassed all understanding.

It was one of those moments where you know God had woven every detail together, the message, the timing, the people, the place. He put willing hearts exactly where they needed to be.

That evening ended not in sadness, but in celebration. The church came alive with singing and dancing, a reminder that even in our deepest grief, God brings healing and hope. His light shines brightest in the darkest places, and His timing is always perfect.

We left that night, reminded that God’s work is never random; He meets us where we are, right when we need Him most.

🙏 Call to Action

Please continue to pray for the families of La Ensenada and for the pastors and leaders who faithfully serve their communities. Each story of healing reminds us why Hope for Tela exists—to bring encouragement, partnership, and the message of Christ’s love to the people of Honduras.
