One of the goals of Hope For Tela is to train and educate the people in the area so that they are skilled to impact their own community. Our goal is to share the love and compassion of Jesus Christ and to watch him transform lives and eventually the community. Not only are we assisting area churches in training people concerning the gospel, but we are training the community of Tela in a variety of other ways.
Educationally we are training teachers in areas like classroom management, reading, math and science instruction. We have a partnership with the local pastors and schools, to train their teachers.
We are partnering with local pastors to give them resources such as skills for managing stress, mentoring and marriage counseling. In turn, they are empowered to help the members of their congregations. We are building cohort communities so local pastors and missionaries can support each other. We have set up an area on the property where we can host workshops, have study resources and allow access to copiers, computers and internet to assist pastors as they present the Word of God.
Hope for Tela is working with the local communities to offer trainings, in the areas of vocational interests, such as cooking, electrical, sewing and money management for small business. We have assisted in small interest free loans to the poor, maintenance of local clinics and schools and worked to help churches with various projects and needs.
